He attempts to create the most archetypical shape as quickly as possible. By scraping, creating a universally recognisable shape, you will immediately notice the sculpture\u2019s autonomy, and the essence, an archetypical manifestation, is what remains. Claassen plays with the basic principles of sculpture; with monumentalism, volume, perspectives and the skin all playing an important role.
