ERWIN WURM

BIG DISOBEDIENCE

Erwin Wurm, born in Bruck an der Mur in Austria in 1954, is famous for his ‘social sculptures’. The work „Big Disobedience“ belongs to a large series of headless figures created by Erwin Wurm. The missing heads point to the fact that the artist tries to eliminate any kind of personality and focuses rather on the cloths as objects that transmit status and charge people with meaning.
