MARCUS HARVEY

VICTORIA

Marcus Harvey, born in 1963 in the UK, is among the first generation of the Young British Artists. Harvey achieved international recognition for his portrait of a serial murderer, Myra Hindley, that was included in the ‘Sensation’ exhibition in London. Especially for Gelderlandplein, Harvey created a green version of his bronze sculpture, ‘Victoria’: a deflated football representing the past glory of the World Cup.
